Personal Bio
I have been teaching for 21 years, and of those years I have had the pleasure of teaching for Achievement Cyber Charter House as a math teacher. I became a teacher because I enjoy teaching my students and making a difference in their lives. Mostly because I know math can be daunting, and frightening to most students, and my philosophy is to make math fun, in a relaxed nonjudgmental environment, where peace, love, and edification of my students to succeed is most important to me. I love my students, and I desire to undo any bad experiences that they have had with math, and create an environment where they can all become mathematicians, opening up their lives to any career that that their hearts desire. My experience as a cyber teacher specifically at Achievement House has been so phenomenal that it has opened the doors to teach to all students learning styles in a better method than brick and mortar of which I had taught for 18 years, because the there is no discipline distractions, and the engagement, and personal relationships within the classroom, and working one on one in the drop in center, has enabled students to excel, and I have been able to not only go deeper in to math content, but actually cover more content than in any other school that I have worked for. The staff here is so supportive, and continuously helping as a beautiful team to not only make our job easier, but improve as educators, and the camaraderie is awesome. Our staff is the most supportive and caring group to help all students achieve and succeed, and keeping parents continually in the loop, looking for the best interest for both, beyond any other school. We love our students and want to help all to learn in an environment of comfort, and continuous support. Plus, the creativity that we can teach to all students learning styles, is so much fun to create lessons form all perspectives to reach all learners.
I am married to a wonderful husband named David, I have a daughter who is 33 years old named Monica, and a sweet grandson named Logan who is 8 years old, and a dog named Clyde, who is 2 ½ years old. I enjoy spending time with family, church and friendships from church, walking, canoeing, vacations, working out, and love teaching and helping my students.
